Community Projects

We Love to Give Back

Women Gardeners of Ridgewood: CJL is proud to sponsor this organization which picks homes throughout Ridgewood and the families allow the community to view their property and gardens. The houses can be historical properties and often have peaceful, beautiful grounds which our community members love the opportunity to enjoy.

Blessing Bags: A wonderful woman who lost her son to addiction has turned her pain into purpose by collecting and donating gloves, hats, blankets, toiletries, and backpacks to the homeless and those in need. She brings awareness and kindness to others in memory of her son. It’s grown tremendously and she’s been able to help many people.

Eva’s Village in Paterson: Eva’s Community Kitchen provides an average of 1,100 meals daily, including meals for those who reside in Eva’s shelters and halfway houses. Their team also engages with guests to try and understand the root causes of their needs, whether it is due to unemployment, homelessness, substance use disorders or mental health challenges, they guide guests toward programs that help them to lead healthy, financially secure lives.

RBARI: As many of you know, we’ve been rescuing dogs for many years. Chris and Mairead currently have two rescues (a new rescue from a high kill shelter down south) who come to work every day! Josh, Michelle, and Nicole all rescued their dogs, and we love our animals dearly. RBARI does great work and we’ve happily donated to them for many years. Sadly, we lost our 14-year-old wonderful dog Clancy (we rescued him at 3 months) this year and we made an additional donation to the Locks of Love program in his memory.

Real Dog Rescue: We donated a prize of outdoor speakers, purchased a table and tickets for each of our staff and friends attending the Real Dog Rescue’s tricky tray in October. They did a wonderful job and we all enjoyed a lovely evening together while helping to save many dogs. All the animal shelters are experiencing overcrowding and need our help.

Trinitas Medical Center: Trinitas is a client of ours and we’ve gladly advocated and attended many of their fundraising projects. Peace of Mind is one of the projects we donate to yearly in support of their wonderful work on mental illness. We also donated to and attended The Sporting Clays Tournament in support of their efforts to improve health and wellness of New Jersey’s diverse communities.

The Black Poster Project: This program brings awareness of addiction and overdose (at no cost) to schools and communities throughout NJ and NY. Their presentation of “Silent Memorials” is a powerful and moving display of The Black Poster Project where people can walk through and read the stories of each lost soul. All posters are made at the request of the grieving family at no cost to them. Sadly, with the continuing rise in fentanyl overdoses, new posters are continuously added. These are heartbroken moms and dads turning their pain into purpose.

Inspire Sports Camps of New Jersey: We continue to support this program, which gives urban youths the opportunity to spend a week in a country setting to learn and enjoy high quality sports training in Basketball, Soccer and Dance.

Project Evergreen: We are humbled by the men and women who serve in our armed forced, and their families’ commitment to duty and country. We are happy to show our gratitude by providing free residential maintenance, lawn care, and landscaping services near you for various members in our community. Hopefully, our assistance eases some of the burden on their families as these men are away from home serving our country in the armed forces.
